ABOUT

Hello and welcome to my website! My name’s Reuben. I’m a freelancer for all things video for live performance, born and raised in London.

After completing 2 years studying Classical Tuba at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, I enrolled in the Video Design for Live Performance course (also at Guildhall) in 2019. I’ve been involved with music and video for nearly my whole life; picking up the tuba at the age of 7, and starting to film my friends and edit the clips together using my mum’s equipment from around the age of 10.

During my first year on the Video course, the pandemic hit. Due to being stuck at home, I focused almost entirely on the creative software side of video. I became experienced in using the Adobe Creative Suite, Notch and Touchdesigner, whilst also briefly using Unreal Engine and Cinema4D.

After graduating, I freelanced as a Video Designer, the majority of my work being in Theatre and Dance. I joined the Royal Shakespeare Company at the start of April 2023 as a Video Technician. Over the next 3 years, I made up for the hands-on experience I missed out on during the pandemic by learning a tonne of information relating to the technical aspects of video. Whilst I was there, I was also given opportunities to design and program video for shows. Missing London, but grateful for the immense knowledge I’d gained, I left the RSC at the end of March 2026 to continue freelancing.

Since I left, my work consists of a combination of both creative and technical aspects of video. I still keep my performing abilities alive by playing with my band (Voodoo Brass Band). I have a particular interest in combining my knowledge of music and video, and would love to work more in this field.
